I was first diagnosed with group A strep- which led to my necrotizing fasciitis, I was in the hospital for more then a month and home now for a couple weeks. Thankfully I did not have any amputated limbs. I had 5 surgeries all together on my right leg and left arm, both are still partially paralyzed so I am learning a lot of how to walk again etc. I have been feeling a little lost without the safety of the hospital and am having a tough time adjusting at home. I got sick the end of September and just got out of the hospital a few weeks ago in November. I was first diagnosed with group A strep- which led to my necrotizing fasciitis, I was in the hospital for more then a month and home now for a couple weeks. I had 5 surgeries all together on my left arm and right leg- thankfully I was able to keep both of my limbs I am so grateful for that!! But my leg surgeries left me with a very serious 'drop foot' as they call it, where I can't lift my right foot at all because they took out so much dead muscle and also the nerves in my leg were damaged. Since I've been out of the hospital I've been in physical therapy for my leg about four times a week and it's starting to move a little but it's still basically paralyzed in one place. I am learning to walk again but it's so frustrating.. the things you take for granted...
